How long does the online permaculture initiation last ?

The whole initiation to permaculture lasts 12 hours, divided into 6 sessions of 2 hours each.

​

The schedule selected in order to accommodate as many people as possible are as follows :

​

  • Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

​

Up to 3 sessions per week, spread over 2 weeks. If you cannot be present at a session exceptionally, no worries, the lesson is recorded and available for replay for 1 week.

This training is for:

  • Curious people who have heard about permaculture and want to know the ethics and the practices ;

​

  • Experienced or beginner gardeners, wishing to discover all the aspects surrounding permaculture and go further in its understanding ;

​

  • For people wishing to explore alternatives respectful of people and environment faced with the challenges posed by the current production system ;

​

  • To people with knowledge or not, with experience or not ;

​​

  • In summary, to everybody between 18 and 118 years old.

​

How much does the training cost?

For the purpose of inclusion, we offer a free price in consciousness.

​

This means that we wish to give priority to access to this training for everyone. The primary goal is to share knowledge, we do not wish to enter into economic competition with learners. We exchange knowledge for financial aid whose you decide the amount.

​

At the end of the training, you will estimate how much it is worth and how high you can participate to help us. Payment can be made via bank transfer. Recommended price for the good performance of our activities: 70 € per person.

What is the content of this permaculture initiation ?

The gardening techniques respecting the natural functioning of ecosystems are an important aspect of permaculture, but are far from being the only ones.

​

Considering the ethics and principles of permaculture, as they were developed by Australians Bill Mollison and David Holmgren in the 1970s and embellished since, makes it possible to meet the basic needs of humans while regenerating the environment.

​

Through a multidisciplinary and global approach, the permaculture is therefore a means of designing, developing and planning the resources at our disposal. This in order to ensure respect for everyone's basic needs while not consuming more than what our environment has to offer. It goes through the food production obviously, but also by many areas such as habitat, education, health, energy, etc.

​

The training of Introduction to Permaculture proposed will address these topics and allow trainees to leave with all the keys to have a complete vision and deepen permaculture according to their needs and desires.

 

More specifically, this training will address, over 6 sessions of 2 hours:

​

  • 1st session :

    • The founders and origins of permaculture,

    • ethics and principles of permaculture in details ;

​

  • 2nd session :

    • Applications and key concepts in permaculture​​​,
    • ​The techniques of permaculture design ;

​

​​​

  • 3rd session :

    • Methodologies of permaculture design,

    • Animal husbandry in permaculture ;

​

  • 4th session :

    • Introduction to agroforestry and the importance of trees,

    • Permaculture in the city ;​

​

​

  • 5th session :
    • Relevant areas in permaculture : housing, appropriate technologies, energy,
    • Introduction to human permaculture ;​

​

  • 6th session :

    • The basics of agroecology and ecological successions,

    • Focus on the natural functioning of vegetable garden elements (functioning of the soil, plants, animals in the garden, etc.), essential to operate your permaculture plot yourself.

Practical information

Informations pratiques

The training is not leading to a diploma and is provided by a certified trainer, with 12 hours of theoretical discussions, including 2 hours of practical exercise with discussion.

 

No prior skills are required.

​

 

All of the training will be delivered on the platform of

online video conferencing Google Meet (free software).

​

​

You just need to have an Internet connection and connect to the link that we will provide you with the associated password, from your computer, phone or tablet.

​

If you cannot be present at a session exceptionally, you will also be able to view the course in replay for 1 week.
